1 hour by bus from Keelung. A magnificent little village with great views and two young girls who giggled while they conducted market surveys.
Advice: Walk all the way to the end, and duck into a teahouse. The best seats are on the balcony, nevermind the freezing wind.
The special food is of Hakka origins with massive fish-paste tofu and red sorghum meatballs. They love their toro balls, but frankly it’s just yam bits in sweet syrup. Nothing much to shout about.
